What drives people to suicide?

Every year over 1 million people commit suicide worldwide. It caught me off guard too! One million people, is in my opinion a lot, too much actually. But why commit suicide?  This is not an easy question to answer. Scientists are still trying to figure a more accurate answer. In the US suicides outnumber the homicides by just about 2 to 1. Almost 80% of suicides committed yearly are by people under 33 years of age. It is more likely that men will commit suicide in the Western world however females make an effort to suicide more frequently. Read more…

The answer is: “Yes, we are passed the Stone Age!”

The Iranian Government is denying that the Iranian woman will be executed by stoning. Wait for it! Don’t smile! Because the execution will be carry out by some other method that the government won’t disclose. In the past those who didn’t experience stoning, were hanged for their sentence. Read more…

Catholic Priests’ endless scandals

On Curaçao, about 75% of the population are Christians, mainly Roman Catholic. Worldwide catholic is one of the largest religion group also. I don’t think their beliefs are a secret to the world and especially the controversial ways the priests, nuns and all that are working for this organization must behave. This week the Pope apologized for the Irish priests and their committed abuses against the Irish people. I wonder why? Why apologize? Read more…

Should we blame the killer whale?

OF COURSE NOT!! I can’t believe how stupid people can be! I was reading what people wrote on the matter, it would just shock you. I mean a lady wrote: “He’s a trained animal and yet he doesn’t know how to behave himself towards his trainer. Therefore I believe that this animal should be punished by being executed in front of the victim’s family and the entire nation. They should let the other whales witness the execution as well so they’ll know better.”  My first thought: What the F*ck? On what planet is this lady living on? Read more…

Ciudad Juarez/Juarez City………the worst city in the Americas?

I like to watch the news and try to keep up with everything that’s happening in the world today. I try to focus mostly on the positive things, but there are some  negative things happening that you just can’t ignore. Recently I watched the Mexican movie “El Traspatio/The Backyard”. The movie is about the women that were and are being kidnapped, raped and killed since the mid nineties in the city Juarez of Mexico. As if that were enough, every day people (mostly gang members) are being killed because of the drug wars between the cartels.

Tragedy in Haiti

As many of you already know, Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere and inhabits a little over ten million people. On January 12th, 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake shook the grounds of the City Delmas approximately 25 kilometers from the capital Port Au Prince. The earthquake was the strongest earthquake recorded on the island since 1770. The expected death toll is 45.000 to 50.000 people but it is expected to increase. The communication lines have not been established yet but they are likely to be working next week tops.
