Germany wins and takes third place in the World cup 2010 just as Paul the octopus predicted. If we assume that Paul has some special powers of some sort, then later today, Spain will win the Cup. People are fund of weird superstitious stuff! In Berlin, Germany,  octopus oracle Paul predicted that Spain is going to beat the Netherlands at the World Cup finals in South Africa. It was the first time the two and a half year-old octopus had been tasked to pick a game in which Germany wasn’t involved. Initially I was all the way Spain but being a Dutch national, may be the cause of my possible change of heart. At this point, I really do not care about who wins. After beating Portugal 1-0, Spain advances to the World-cup quarter finals. After the game was over, the Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo spat towards a camera.
