Spain Wins!
Yesterday the world witnessed the most dull and boring game of the world cup 2010. There was no excitement whatsoever, I was praying for the damn thing to end already and while watching the game, the group of people I was with, we were all talking about the Uruguay and Germany game! They played like it was the finals! Read more…
German Octopus picks the winner of world cup 2010
People are fund of weird superstitious stuff! In Berlin, Germany, octopus oracle Paul predicted that Spain is going to beat the Netherlands at the World Cup finals in South Africa. It was the first time the two and a half year-old octopus had been tasked to pick a game in which Germany wasn’t involved. He flawlessly called Germany’s wins over Argentina, England, Australia and Ghana and the country’s loss to Spain and Serbia. Read more…

The Netherlands vs. Spain World Cup 2010
Initially I was all the way Spain but being a Dutch national, may be the cause of my possible change of heart. At this point, I really do not care about who wins. Spain or the Netherlands both deserve to be in the finals but on scoring goals, the Dutch surpassed the Spaniards. Read more…

Cristiano Ronaldo spits towards camera
After beating Portugal 1-0, Spain advances to the World-cup quarter finals. After the game was over, the Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo spat towards a camera. This is how much sportsmanship the Portuguese player lacks. And this is coming after no one knew he was playing in that game. He was literally “The Ghost in the Field”. The spitting game isn’t new to Ronaldo, in the past when playing for Manchester United, he was continuously in spitting conflict with players of the other team. Read more…
World Cup 2010: Possible distribution of the HIV virus
Approximately half of South Africa’s prostitutes are carrying the HIV virus. In 2005 a research was conducted and 46% of the prostitutes in Johannesburg alone carried the virus. According to the UN, about 57 million people in South Africa are infected with the HIV virus. This summer South Africa is expecting over half a million football fans.
World Cup 2010: Stab Vests 4 sale
This fragment is the funniest thing I’ve seen on the News this week. A London based company wants to sell stab-vests to visiting football fans during the World Cup in South Africa. South Africa’s authorities condemned this action and believe that it will cause unnecessary fear. Football fans all over the globe condemned this vest as well. “You can add your country’s flag on the vest also” stated the company owner. He said that these vests are being sold to the security conscious people.
Why do Americans call it “Football”?
First of all don’t get me wrong! I absolutely have nothing against the sport but truthfully I find the name to be very unfit. I’m not a fan of this sport because I don’t get it! It has too many rules that I don’t get and I am not interested in. It’s like a nine year old invented it a long time ago and they just kept adding rules after rules. I believe that they still do! Yet it is the most popular sport in the USA.
