INDIA – In a Northern town, Uttar Pradesh, a baby boy was born with 34 fingers and toes. Akshat Saxena, 1, has fourteen fingers and twenty toes. As strange as it already may sound, it’s even weirder than he doesn’t have any thumbs. This is a rare genetic disorder known as polydactyl.
Before Akshat, a six year old Chinese boy held the world record with 15 fingers and 16 toes but holds the record again since Akshat had surgery. The doctors removed the excess fingers and are now trying to construct thumbs from the amputated fingers.
