Facebook officially adds Skype video-chat features

After many speculations, Mark Zuckerberg finally announced the video-calling feature in partnership with Skype, the most popular Internet video-chat provider. This announcement comes one week after Google launched its complete social network called Google+.

The new video call feature is actually quite simple, at the top of your profile pages there will be a “call” button. By simply clicking the button, you’ll be able to call one specific user. Today facebook made this new feature available for millions of users and will eventually add it for all 750 million facebook users overtime just as they usually do for new features.

The new video chat feature, unlike Skype doesn’t allow you to chat in groups however but it will be possible sometime in the future. Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg said that he thinks that this is super-awesome! Indeed it is!

I’ve heard from many people that they are scared of Facebook’s policies and the way they handle its users’ privacy. I’m not going to lie by telling that it’s safe, but I believe that what you share is exactly what people will know about you.

About Nicole Hawker

My favorite things to do is swimming, playing tennis and watch movies, TV shows and documentaries. I like to be aware of what's happening in the world and I have to admit that I'll never understand politicians. I design and build information systems for a living. The job pays well however it gets quite tiresome sometimes. I discovered two years ago that I have some kind of passion for writing so in 2010 I started this blog in hope that people will share a piece of their mind.
