The Yoda Bat was discovered in Papua New Guinea along with hundreds of other species. I certainly felt the force in this extraordinary creature, so much that I had to share. The bat resembles Yoda a tiny bit in my opinion, only the ears nevertheless it’s amazing that the creature was named after a Star Wars Jedi Master Fictional character. It’s funny!
It made me think that the scientist(s) who discovered it perhaps were playing star wars in the jungle and accidentally found this fruit eating bat. Since we humans aren’t as small as Yoda, they thought the bat should fit the character perfectly for his ears alone. In my opinion the vat looks more like the “Orcs” from the lord of the rings.

I’m sure that there are probably more new species to discover in Papua New Guinea since there are tribes of indigenous people who haven’t even been contacted by the outside world. Who knows maybe they have fairies there!
