Why do people think that not believing in the Bible equals Atheism?

I am sick and tired of people looking at me like I’m some kind of devil-worshiper because of the simple fact that I do not believe in the Bible. They won’t even give me a chance to lie that I’m Jewish or whatever other religion because I don’t count. It’s discrimination!

I am not an atheist yet and I do not believe in the Bible. People ask me: “How is it possible? You can’t possibly not believe and yet believe can you?” For some reason it confuses people so please let me enlighten you. I do believe that there’s a God. To me, that equals the beginning of everything however I it’s a 50/50 chance, because I actually don’t know the facts and you don’t either! Trust me I very much believe that we aren’t here by chance or error due to the imperfect Universe we live in.(Scientists believe that we exist due to imperfection within our Universe) I believe that we are special, that we were meant to be in this Universe until the end of time. Nevertheless, the logic part of me always tells me that again it is a possibility since no one knows for sure. Let’s face it science has uncovered a whole lot in the last decades although where we really came from, only theories exist.

I despise religion actually, I sincerely do. Look at all the fighting that’s going on right now, this current moment (think about it), name one that has nothing to do with religion! You can’t, can you? You can tie each and every one of those wars to religion. And, that is why I believe that religion is an efficient way to control a population. It’s a fact that people will kill for religion or what they believe in. The people at the head of religions have an unimaginable power. Tons of it! I will give you some examples.

We’ll start with the quarrel between Japan and China that by the way till to date there are hard feelings among them. In the ancient days, Hirohito, Emperor of Japan, was believed to be a divine person by his own people. Soon after he was worshiped and died because he was worshiped, but still a man of flesh and bone, wars started against China, all in the name of Shinto.

Secondly, another war that has been going on for centuries without signs to come to an end. They are fighting for the holy land, Jerusalem. It’s a fact that Judaism came before Islam and Christianity but throughout history they are the ones that have been mostly prosecuted and murdered because of their beliefs. It’s unbelievable as well because in my opinion they are the least violent of all religions and cults.

In the early ages when Christianity was relatively young, the Christians would persecute and killed all those who didn’t accept Christianity as their religion as they were also being killed by Jews and the Roman Empire.

I could keep naming many more, but if you are interested, search for information on the subject. Trust me, you’ll find plenty. Seriously throughout history people have been killed and mostly brutally murdered because of their beliefs. Now, if you kill those who don’t believe in your religion, it’s a warning for all the others who don’t. Eventually, against their will and out of fear, the others will follow. I am thankful, as should you be to have been born in this era where freedom exists. Unfortunately it doesn’t exist everywhere on the planet. Women in Muslim countries are still being discriminated and considered less than men, nonetheless I am hopeful that one day soon we will all be free.

Update: I am an Atheist. Why? Allow me to explain.

If there’s a God, who created him? And in turn who created his creator? Eventually you will bump into infinity. (Something must be infinite) That’s the only logical explanation, otherwise it’ll never end. So if God, the creator of everything exist, then he’s the beginning and the end. Since he didn’t left any promising sign of his existence, (If you think the Bible, there are at least 4 other “Holy Books”) so what if the creation and destruction of the Universe is infinite?

The job pays well however it gets quite tiresome sometimes. I discovered two years ago that I have some kind of passion for writing so in 2010 I started this blog in hope that people will share a piece of their mind.
