I’m sure this great news for all the parents out there but I wouldn’t get too excited if I were you. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) stated that pornography sites will now have its own top-level domain (TLD). All porn sites will fall under.xxx as in (dot) XXX. The ICM Registry have been trying for six long years to push all porn sites into one TLD. According to ICANN members, the .xxx project will be under the ICANN’s rules of “sponsored TLDs” which makes it highly unlikely for the project to succeed. This project however would benefit parents in a major way since they only need to block the .xxx domains to prevent their children from watching porn.
