Narco-subs is the new method to smuggle drugs

The drug cartels in Colombia are willing to pay anything to develop new ways of technology to smuggle drugs in the United States. The Clinton administration passed the legislation “Plan Colombia” to aid the country with Billions in military support to help bring to an end the cultivation and transportation of cocaine. Up and till today they had somewhat success because for the past 10 years, the cultivation of cocaine dropped 29% in Colombia. Now homemade submarines are being used for drug trafficking. Buenaventura, a strategic port city and maritime gateway to Central and North America, is a safe place for these narco-subs. The Colombian navy has collected a few of narco-subs. Most of the narco-subs are being built to look like speedboats with their roofs removed and most of them aren’t engineered to be completely submersible.

So far, Colombian authorities have no idea how many of these vessels have been deployed to the United States. These vessels carry unlawful substances and a couple of men to operate it. It takes weeks for these men to reach the United States with one of these vessels with no bathroom. The latest design is called a “Torpedo” model because it’s an unmanned vessel that will be towed by another boat or ship.

About Nicole Hawker

My favorite things to do is swimming, playing tennis and watch movies, TV shows and documentaries. I like to be aware of what's happening in the world and I have to admit that I'll never understand politicians. I design and build information systems for a living. The job pays well however it gets quite tiresome sometimes. I discovered two years ago that I have some kind of passion for writing so in 2010 I started this blog in hope that people will share a piece of their mind.

It’s better to make all drugs legal and this problem will just blow away in a few years.
