German Octopus picks the winner of world cup 2010

People are fund of weird superstitious stuff! In Berlin, Germany,  octopus oracle Paul predicted that Spain is going to beat the Netherlands at the World Cup finals in South Africa. It was the first time the two and a half year-old octopus had been tasked to pick a game in which Germany wasn’t involved. He flawlessly called Germany’s wins over Argentina, England, Australia and Ghana and the country’s loss to Spain and Serbia. He also predicted Friday that Germany will win over Uruguay in Saturday’s match for third and fourth place. Sure, he was nine from nine this year but of course it doesn’t mean he’s right. The probabilities are  50/50 so it’s not really a challenge. Death threats were being made against the poor creature by the fans of the losing teams. Good luck to Spain and the Netherlands.

About Nicole Hawker

My favorite things to do is swimming, playing tennis and watch movies, TV shows and documentaries. I like to be aware of what's happening in the world and I have to admit that I'll never understand politicians. I design and build information systems for a living. The job pays well however it gets quite tiresome sometimes. I discovered two years ago that I have some kind of passion for writing so in 2010 I started this blog in hope that people will share a piece of their mind.
