Should we blame the killer whale?

OF COURSE NOT!! I can’t believe how stupid people can be! I was reading what people wrote on the matter, it would just shock you. I mean a lady wrote: “He’s a trained animal and yet he doesn’t know how to behave himself towards his trainer. Therefore I believe that this animal should be punished by being executed in front of the victim’s family and the entire nation. They should let the other whales witness the execution as well so they’ll know better.”  My first thought: What the F*ck? On what planet is this lady living on?

The incident at Sea World was not the whale’s fault. They don’t think the way we do. Experts believe that the whale didn’t understand that humans can’t hold their breath as long as they do. Others say that in the case of the sea world accident, the whale thought that the trainer was a toy which caused the unfortunate fatal accident. But the facts are that he attacked the trainer in the middle of the show in front of an audience, after killing her, he attacked another trainer who jumped into the pool to calm him down. The other trainer got out of the pool with a fractured leg and a mild concussion.

We capture these animals to train them for our own entertainment because of our superiority. You can take a monkey out of the jungle, but sadly the jungle will stay a part of him for the rest of his life. They named the animal killer whale for something. I don’t think the killer part is because he somehow is “the killer” in bed compared the other whales. Orcas eat sharks for crying out loud!

I went to Sea World once and I thought the show was amazing. Try imagining being one of the Sea World’s Orcas. You’re in a confined space, you have to train the show routine everyday (Work) and your pay is food (the same damn fish everyday!). Bottom line: It’s a prison! Besides all that if you’re a female Orca, they will impregnate you by artificially inseminate you with God knows what other Orca’s sperm. So no fun for you making the baby! As if that were enough, after having the baby probably without understanding how it happened, they will sell your baby to God knows what other aquarium. This is imprisonment and enslavement.

If these animals were in a much, much larger tank, with some kind of nature they are use to like coral reefs and rocky bottom combined with sand it would be less frustrating for them. It’s more than obvious that you can train these animals all you want, that doesn’t take away that they use their instincts. I truly believe that with these orcas, tragedy is waiting around the corner .
